What campers say

Buttermilk Campground sits on Island Park Reservoir and offers close lake access with a boat ramp and nearby rentals. Campsites are generally spacious and many are pull-through; loop B has reserved sites while much of loop A is first-come, first-served. Hosts are frequently praised as friendly and attentive, and new vault toilets, picnic tables, fire pits, and utility tables were added recently and kept very clean. Expect limited privacy between sites and few electrical hookups — some visitors wished for more power. There are no bear storage lockers, so store food in vehicles. The setting is family-friendly and convenient for visiting nearby Yellowstone.
