Sites are first-come, first-served (about 15 spots), so arriving early is recommended. There is little phone service and minimal amenities—toilets are non-flush but generally maintained. Nights tend to be quiet, though spring winds can be strong and passing day visitors or tour groups sometimes create dust, parking pressure, and extra traffic through the campground. Good for campers seeking a rustic, scenic experience who are prepared for basic facilities and occasional crowds during peak times.

White Tank Campground in Joshua Tree National Park California offers 15 primitive tent and RV sites situated among a boulder garden for rock climbing and hiking bliss. RVs and trailers are limited to less than 25 feet and this campground is best suited to car and tent campers only. Very scenic location to pitch a tent with tons of bouldering all around. On weekends this campground gets overrun with day users too so be aware of your possessions when leaving camp. Pit toilets and no water available at this location.
