📖 About This Campground
San Juan County Park Campground in Friday Harbor Washington is located on the west side of San Juan Island and overlooks Haro Strait with views of San Juan de Fuca and Vancouver Island. Near the beach, most sites have water views where you can possibly view Orcas swimming by. Recreational activities include hiking, biking and kayaking. The primitive campground is suitable for tents and small RVs. Set in a natural setting with the Ocean on one side and forested covered hills on the other this campground provides a unique opportunity to camp in an amazing location.
To get to San Juan County Park Campground campers must first get to the island via boat, ferry, kayaking or swimming (the later is highly discouraged) Ferries depart Anacortes and make regular stops at Friday Harbor. The ferries can carry vehicles of all sizes and are reasonably priced (not cheap but not overly expensive either). Once on the island private cars are allowed or the more adventurous can bike camp and ride over to the campground.
San Juan County Park Campground is located in a rural setting a ways from town; bring all your supplies and food with you. There are restrooms available. Sites have fire rings and picnic tables.
Reservations are highly recommended during peak season (summer).
