What campers say

Rex Hale Campground is a well-kept, quiet base for visiting Yellowstone’s East Entrance and Cody, with riverside sites, open views and dark skies for stargazing. Many guests praise friendly, attentive camp hosts and very clean vault restrooms. Sites range from primitive riverside spots to water/electric hookups and generally accommodate large rigs; bear-resistant boxes, picnic tables and fire rings are common. It's inexpensive (around $20/night) and largely first-come, first-served. Practical tradeoffs: facilities are basic (pit/vault toilets), there’s no on-site dump station, and cell service is often limited — worth considering when planning a stay.

We choose this park for it’s proximity to Yellowstone and Cody. The senior price was exceptional $10 per night water and electric (30 amp). Though the open space between the sights was overgrown we were there to visit the park and Cody. The camp ground host was friendly and helpful. The gavel roads were in great shape and the campsite was level. It is on our will stay again list for when we are in the area.
