What campers say

Devils Postpile National Monument offers a striking, one-of-a-kind basalt column formation and pleasant hikes, including the trail down to Rainbow Falls. The walking routes are generally doable for most visitors, though high elevation can make sections more strenuous — bring water, sun protection, and layered clothing. Access often involves a shuttle (recommended by many) or a narrow mountain drive; shuttles can be crowded and waits or roadwork may limit access or parking. Facilities at the drop-off include restrooms and a ranger station with information. Overall, a scenic, worthwhile stop if you plan for the seasonal logistics.
