What campers say

Beartooth Lake Campground sits right on a stunning alpine lake with easy access to trails and very photogenic views. Sites are basic but well maintained — typical loops with fire rings, benches, bear‑resistant trash/food lockers and first‑come, first‑served spaces for a small fee. Roads in are bumpy and unpaved, and the lake is very cold, so water activities are limited. Plan for wildlife: bears are commonly reported so store food properly. The area offers excellent dark‑sky stargazing. A few visitors noted assertive interactions with staff, so expect occasional oversight from hosts.
