Devil’s Lake State Park Campgrounds near Baraboo Wisconsin provides 3 distinct campgrounds within the State’s premier vacation destination. Devil’s Lake is a scenic freshwater lake surrounded by small mountains covered with dense forest. Miles of hiking trails, biking trails and scenic recreation surrounded the property. An incredibly popular summer time destination the park fills to maximum capacity most every weekend (to the point that surrounding property owners provide parking for a fee to guests that walk the mile into the park!). The main draw of the park is the freshwater lake open to kayaking, sailing and canoeing. A pretty beach, dining area and picnic tables invite guests to enjoy the environment.

Camping areas are divided between Quartzsite, Northern Lights and Ice Age campgrounds. Quartzsite Campground provides partial and primitive hookup RV and tent camping with the majority of the sites set on gravel/ grass pads with excellent spacing between neighbors and little to no trees. All backin sites the location is accessible to large RVers (not big rigs), tents and small RVS. Northern Lights Campground is very similar to Quartzsite except that it is a bit tougher to access and has more small sites tucked in to the trees. Finally Ice Age campground is accessible via a paved road thru a tunnel and provides mostly small RV and tent camping sites on three one way loop roads. The vast majority of these sites are in the trees with heavy shade and good privacy.

All the campgrounds have water spigots and restrooms with running water. From any of the campgrounds it is a bit of a trek down to the water side and the trek includes a steep, at times, hazardous descent down the mountain. Most guests elect to drive over to the waters edge.

Not far from the famous Wisconsin Dells area Devil’s Lake State Park Campgrounds are an incredibly popular vacation destination. Advanced reservations are available and encouraged.

    Dump stations are available.
