📖 About This Campground
Mendenhall Lake Campground near Juneau Alaska offers full, partial, and primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent camping in a US Forest Service managed campground. With a view of the Mendenhall Glacier, and is about 13 miles from downtown Juneau. Sites include: 9 full-service RV sites with electricity, water and sewer hook-ups; 9 partial-service RV sites with electricity and water hook-ups; 51 basic-service sites; 7 sites in a separate walk-in backpacker area with covered shelter for cooking; 48 sites that accommodate camping units larger than 30 feet. All of the sites have tent pads, picnic tables and fire grills that meet accessibility standards. Water faucets and vault toilets are dispersed throughout the campground, and two bathhouse units with flush toilets and hot showers. A central dump station is on site. The campground host and garbage dumpster is near entrance. Firewood is rarely provided and it is best to bring your own (no pallets). The maximum stay is 14 days. Situated in a forest setting.
