What campers say
Auk Village Campground sits on Juneau’s bay with wooded sites and short forest trails, offering bay views and regular wildlife sightings (birds and occasional bears). Sites are generally small but spaced among trees and often include a table, fire pit and bear box; potable water and restrooms are available at the pavilion. It’s inexpensive, dog-friendly and road-accessible with online reservations. Tradeoffs to consider: some beach access is rocky, campsites are modest in size, and day-use areas or holiday weekends can bring late-night noise. Come prepared for cool, wet weather.
