📖 About This Campground

Magruder Crossing Campground is an intensely remote, primitive backcountry sanctuary resting at a historic river crossing along the wild and scenic Selway River. Deeply embedded within the Bitterroot National Forest along the rugged 101-mile Magruder Corridor, this free 4-site haven offers an authentic off-grid escape tailored for tent campers, truck campers, and small trailer setups under 16 feet. Serving as a pristine frontier gateway between the Selway-Bitterroot and the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness complexes, the campground features basic vault toilets and stock-friendly hitch rails. Operating purely on a first-come, first-served basis with no electricity, potable water, or trash services, it provides an unparalleled "pack-it-in, pack-it-out" wilderness experience for self-reliant, high-clearance vehicle adventurers.
