What campers say
Hal Canyon Campground sits along the Colorado River about 10 minutes from Moab and Arches, offering scenic riverside views and easy access to rafting and swimming. Sites are first-come, first-serve (typically $20/night, reduced with a senior/access pass), with picnic tables, fire rings and vault toilets that visitors generally find very clean. Campsites tend toward smaller footprints—better for tents, vans or small rigs than large Class A vehicles—and shade is inconsistent. Expect limited cell reception, river sounds and occasional highway noise. Well maintained with good drainage; arrive early during peak season.
