What campers say
Gooseberry Falls State Park offers scenic, easily reached waterfalls (upper, middle, lower) with paved trails and boardwalks, short loops and a longer 3-mile loop that reaches Lake Superior. Trails include steps and ramps, making many viewpoints accessible; the visitor center provides restrooms and a small store. There are picnic areas, a beach and shallow spots for wading, and dogs are permitted on leash. The park is popular and can be crowded in peak season, and parking may require a pass or fee. Overall it's a family-friendly, year-round destination that is lush in summer and dramatic with ice formations in winter.
