What campers say

Dead Indian Campground is a small, scenic, and generally quiet primitive campground set along Dead Indian Creek. Sites are few and often lightly used, with creekside locations, fire rings, and bear-resistant food storage. Facilities are minimal — no potable water and clean pit toilets — so plan to bring supplies and pack out trash when services are limited. The setting makes a good base for exploring nearby Sunlight Basin and Yellowstone, though visitors should be bear-aware and expect occasional road noise. Overall, it’s a peaceful, low-impact option for campers comfortable with basic amenities.
