If your are scouting out this location- please verify that it is still open. The review by Mr. Koep (3-18) indicates that they are closed and open certain seasons depending on the water level. I have only see this location closed for the last 5 year.
      Happy camping!!

McGrath State Beach will open a limited number of campsites Friday after floodwater again receded from the oft-closed state park.

The popular campground near Ventura Harbor opened for about four months last year, but closed in January when water started creeping back into the park.

In a sort of revolving door of flooding and drying out, McGrath seasonally floods as water builds up in a nearby estuary.

During the recent drought, however, campsites remained underwater and closed more often than not.
