Monterey Veterans Memorial Park is a convenient, well-kept small campground on a hill with pleasant views and shade from oaks and pines, within easy reach of Monterey attractions. Sites are generally roomy for tents and the playground and clean restrooms are consistently praised. The park is first-come, first-served with a three-night maximum and modest fees. Practical tradeoffs: RV sites can be tight and leveling difficult, showers are available but may require tokens or have limited, non-adjustable controls, and a few visitors reported occasional problems with the dump station or confrontational guests/staff.
