Luxury glamping tents include comfortable beds and heated blankets, and many sites offer attractive valley views. The park is family-friendly — playground, cornhole and other activities — and is a short drive to a nearby market and downtown Carmel. Practical tradeoffs: the grounds are steep, some tent pads are small and RV spots can be tight for larger rigs; there’s limited access via a narrow road and extra-car parking fees. Overall it’s well maintained and popular.

Saddle Mountain RV Park and Campground in Carmel California offers full hook-up RV and primitive tent camping situated on the side of the mountain southwest of Carmel Valley. Accommodations up to 40 feet. Please call ahead, as larger sites are limited in number. Campsites range in size and view. CAUTION: narrow residential road entering the location and steep drive up to the campground
