What campers say

Van Riper State Park offers roomy campsites and a large sandy beach with swings, playgrounds and a bike/skate pump track, plus kayak, paddleboard and bike rentals. Restrooms are generally clean and the modern loop has showers; rustic sites use pit toilets. A small camp store and concessions are on-site and staff are described as friendly and helpful. The park is convenient to regional sights but can have daytime highway noise. Nearby trails are available across the road but can be narrow, muddy and buggy in places. Laundry is available, though getting change for machines may be difficult.
