King Lake State Forest Campground is a small, rustic, first-come, first-served site on King Lake with roughly six campsites, several right on the water and a boat ramp that makes launching kayaks and small boats easy. Sites are large and private, each with a picnic table and fire ring; there is a vault toilet, a water pump, and onsite trash receptacles. Visitors praise the quiet, good shore fishing, and secluded setting. Expect a long single-lane dirt approach, basic amenities, occasional mosquito issues, and some reports of overflowing trash/toilets and an additional out-of-state fee.
