Beaufort Lake State Forest Campground is a small, rustic lakeside site with only about seven lakeshore campsites and easy canoe/kayak access. It’s popular for fishing and boating and offers grassy sites right on the water. Facilities are minimal: vault/portable toilets and a hand‑pump well, so bring supplies and be prepared for bugs, sand and changing weather. Sites can fill on weekend nights and are fairly open with few trees; highway noise and occasional rowdy neighbors have been reported. Access is on a washboard gravel road that can be rough for motorcycles. Good choice if you want simple, scenic lakeside camping.
