Sunrise Campgrounds sits right on Storm Lake with strong positives: consistent praise for the lake views, boat and fishing access, clean sites, a roomy bathhouse with multiple showers and a laundry room, plus recently improved gravel roads and marked, mowed sites. However experiences vary: management style and rule enforcement are inconsistent—some guests praise helpful hosts and family activities, others report strict or unfriendly hosts, unexpected fees and gated access rules. Some sites have poor drainage after storms and the playground was removed; occasional cleanliness and pest (ants/cottonwood) issues have been mentioned. Overall a scenic, well-located park with tradeoffs to consider.

Walking distance of several great amenities including King's Pointe Waterpark, the Regatta Grille, Sunrise Pointe Golf Course, Mandeville Disc Golf Course, beach volleyball courts, family playground, public beaches, and much, much more.
