Stovepipe Wells Campground is a convenient, large, open site behind the village with easy access to Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, Mosaic Canyon and northern Death Valley routes. The lot-like layout suits RVs—many hookups are available—and tents are mixed in among RV spaces. Amenities include flushing restrooms, dishwashing and water nearby; showers are off-site at the motel for a fee. You’ll find a well-stocked general store, gas and a restaurant within walking distance. Tradeoffs include little to no shade, frequent activity and road/aircraft noise, but the wide-open skies make for excellent star viewing.

Stovepipe Wells Campground in Death Valley National Park California offers 190 primitive tent and RV camping sites at sea level. Adjacent to the commercially operated Stovepipe Wells restaurant and hotel; there is also a gas station/ convenience store here too. Water and flush toilets available. Sites are in an open setting on dirt. First come first served 1.5 miles from Mesquite Sand Dunes. A dirt road also departs across the highway for other sight seeing adventures or off-road bicycling opportunities. A dump station is available. There is a dedicated tent camping area along the back row. Open seasonally during the colder months.
