What campers say

Emigrant Campground is a small, free, tent-only site with about ten first-come, first-served spots that offers excellent views and very low light for stargazing. Flush restrooms and a potable water spigot are a short walk away, making the basic amenities convenient. Expect hard, rocky ground and frequent winds—stakes won’t hold well so bring cord, heavy rocks, or specialized anchors. The campground sits above the valley and can be cooler than the floor, and proximity to the main road means occasional vehicle noise or headlights on inner sites. Arrive early on busy weekends to secure a site.
