South Gemini Lake State Forest Campground is a small, quiet, rustic site with about eight or nine campsites, including a couple of waterfront sites that are excellent for fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Amenities are minimal—vault toilets (often reported very clean), a well pump, no hookups or dump station—and cell service is limited. Access is a roughly six-mile dirt road that can be slow or muddy after heavy rain. A nearby loop trail provides lake views but shows signs of neglect. Expect mosquitoes in warmer weather and occasional maintenance or isolated safety concerns; it rewards those seeking peaceful, backcountry-style camping.
