Sheffield Campground is a primitive, first-come/first-served site conveniently located between Grand Teton and Yellowstone. It offers roughly 10–15 basic sites with picnic tables and bear boxes, no potable water, and basic restroom facilities that can vary. Access is on a rough, narrow dirt road with a shallow creek crossing on a concrete slab; best suited to tents and smaller vehicles since only a few sites accommodate large RVs. Expect limited or no cell service, quiet surroundings, and a friendly volunteer host; a nominal fee (around $10/night) applies.

📖 About This Campground

Sheffield Campground near Moran Wyoming is a US Forest Service campground located just off John D. Rockefeller Parkway between Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. With 5 primitive tent and small RV campsites for a very cheap rate this little known and oft forgotten location is a great fallback for campers looking for last minute camping options in or near the two major National Parks. Accessed via a short dirt road there is a stream crossing that is readily traversed thanks to the aid of cement steps. The campsites are in a mostly open setting with only short thinned trees nearby providing for scenic views of the surrounding mountains. The campsites provide picnic tables and fire rings and can easily handle any size RV or trailer you are willing to bring across the creek. Tent campers enjoy the more natural setting and quiet ambiance. A vault toilet is available; no fresh water. Note this is bear country and special care and handling of food and scented items is required. During season there is a close by pack operation running horses into the wilderness. A short distance from Headwaters Flagg Ranch where gas, food, shower and laundry services are available. Bridger Teton National Forest
