Grassy Lake Road Campsites offer free, dispersed camping with scenic views between Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Sites are first-come, first-served and reached via gravel road; many sites include a pit toilet, picnic table and fire ring, and ample deadwood for fires. Visitors report that sites can accommodate multiple vehicles and rigs, which is convenient but sometimes leads to overcrowding, noise and people driving through established campsites, especially after dark. Facilities (the privy) are generally maintained and bathrooms reported clean, but expect limited enforcement of site limits and to take precautions against mosquitoes and other campers.

📖 About This Campground

Grassy Lake Road Campsites situated along Grass Lake Road in between Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park provide another camping option in the area. Located a few miles west from the main highway (Headwaters area) along a packed and well used dirt/ gravel road. These sites are available on a first come/ first served basis for small RVs and tent campers. Many of the sites have a scenic view looking over the valley and river. Multiple camping "loops" with a few sites and pit toilet are available. Free camping this is unique option for the area. 20 primitive campsites along a gravel road passable to all vehicles with picnic tables, pit toilets, trash cans, and food storage boxes.  No water.  Free of charge - first come, first served.  Some sites are suitable for small RVs. The campsites are available when the road is open. Grand Teton National Park is your best contact for information on the availability of these sites.
