River Bend is now on my favorite campground list. A Hidden Jewel. The property is in a valley with a small river flowing through, and mountain views. Beautiful and well kept landscaping. Large sites, friendly folks, and the cleanest facilities. We had fun tubing down the river, in at one end of property, out on other end. Refreshing in the summer time. Make your reservation early as they are so popular.

River Bend Campground is a well‑maintained, family‑run park on the Hiwassee River with level, spacious gravel sites, many riverfront pitches, and clean bathhouses. Guests report friendly staff, a community atmosphere, a nice pool and pavilion, and convenient access to the Hiawassee area. Most sites offer full hookups, though some riverside sites lack sewer and staff provide tank dumping. Practical notes: roads approaching from the south are steep and winding, so following the campground's big‑rig directions is advised. The campground enforces a strict deposit/cancellation policy, which has led to recent refund disputes.
