Red Squirrel Campground sits in a scenic, wooded lakeside setting prized for peacefulness and strong night-sky/Northern Lights viewing. Sites are relatively few and often quiet, with vault toilets and some larger spots near the bathrooms suitable for families. Campsites offer firepits and shelters with sizable bonfire rings. Practical tradeoffs include seasonal mosquitoes that can be heavy, loosely defined site boundaries and parking, and occasional localized flooding or mossy lake conditions that limit fishing. Overall it’s well regarded for scenery and solitude if you’re prepared for those seasonal nuisances.
