What campers say
Granite Tors Trailhead and Campground is a scenic, peaceful spot near Fairbanks with well‑maintained, spacious sites, clean vault toilets, and views of the granite tors. It’s a good basecamp for the popular 14‑mile loop, bouldering and rock climbing, plus fishing along the river and nearby ponds. Trailheads follow Chena Hot Springs Road and the river, and it’s a short drive from Chena Hot Springs. Dry cabins offer dark skies for winter aurora viewing but have no electricity or service. Seasonal tradeoffs: mosquitoes can be intense in summer and some boardwalk sections could use repair.
