What campers say
Point Detour Campground is a remote, rustic site on cliffs above Lake Superior offering striking lake views and abundant birdlife. Sites are first-come, first-served and sit close to the rocky shoreline; expect steep, sometimes rope-assisted paths down to the water. There are no hookups or potable water and only a central pit outhouse; cell reception is limited. Gravel access roads are rough and narrow, so large trailers may struggle while tents and small campers fit well. Fire rings are simple stone pits and firewood must be purchased locally. Bring water and supplies for a quiet, primitive stay.
