What campers say

Pecos River RV Park is convenient for visiting downtown and the Riverwalk, with staff frequently described as friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi and cable are generally reliable, though cable reportedly required a technician at least once. The park sits close to a busy main road, and several guests found traffic and truck noise disruptive, particularly at some sites. Amenities are limited—many reviewers noted a lack of restrooms, showers, pool, clubhouse, and paved pads—and a few described the grounds as rundown. Rates are considered relatively high for the limited facilities, so weigh location and service against those tradeoffs.

📖 About This Campground

Pecos River RV Park in Carlsbad New Mexico offers full hookup RV camping for short and long term stays along the Pecos River. Mostly long term guests, identified by the added large propane bottles, the park offers both back in (most sites) and a couple pull thru RV sites. Adjacent and slightly below the highway the park has a constant stream of vehicle noise. The best sites are backins with grass yards overlooking the river. A couple blocks away from the classic downtown of Carlsbad this RV park is best utilized by guests looking to spend some time in the area. Nightly rates are a bit steep (last check almost $60 per night) and not worth it; longer term rates are more reasonable. There is a multi-use trail that runs behind the park and along the river allowing for leisurely walks or even vigorous exercise. Good shade trees throughout. The entrance off the highway has a bit of a pitch so longer RVs should use caution pulling in.
