Ossineke State Forest Campground offers scenic, lakeside tent and RV sites with easy access to Lake Huron; many sites are well spaced for privacy and some have short paths to the beach. Vault toilets are generally clean and there is a single hand pump for water, so plan accordingly. The setting is peaceful with dark skies and waves to fall asleep to; however, occasional train noise or nighttime wildlife calls have been reported. Roads and sites can feel narrow for very large rigs. Hosts are usually helpful but experiences vary — expect a rustic, low-service campground.
