Alpena County Fairgrounds is a convenient, budget-friendly option with a mix of riverfront and interior sites. Reservations can be made online (examples cited a ~$35 nightly rate plus a reservation fee). River sites back onto a bike path and offer nice sunset views and easy kayak/boat launching, though direct access to the open lake is limited. Restrooms and showers are available and generally kept clean; potable water and a dump station are provided for campers. Sites can be uneven, there can be activity noise during events, and occasional waits at the single dump station are possible.
