Sites are first-come, first-served and require an adventure/day-use or America the Beautiful pass; some report a $5 nightly cost. Camp features include fire rings, picnic tables and vault toilets; water is limited or absent and the loop suits tents, small trailers and pop-ups better than large rigs. Expect mixed maintenance — many praise spacing and oak shade while others note dusty conditions, litter and lots of bugs and dirty toilets. Highway noise is audible at some sites and rangers check passes regularly.
