Just found out about this place while looking for places to camp closer to home. Located 20 minutes past Magic Mountain within the rolling hills. Reservations were like any other campsite I've been to. Campgrounds are properly maintained and provide sites for both RV’s and tents. The staff was helpful and they provide clean bathrooms, hot showers and periodically drive by offering both firewood and ice for sale. While at a premium it is nice to avoid leaving the campgrounds for those items. Overall happy with my stay and plan on visiting in the future.

What campers say
Lake Piru is a scenic, close-to-the-city spot best known for boating, a good boat ramp, kayak rentals and calm morning paddling. Campsites include tent and RV sites (some with hookups) and shaded spots, and the area is family- and dog-friendly. Expect mixed reports on facilities: some visitors praise clean restrooms and daily upkeep, while others report dirty bathrooms or supply shortages. Noise can vary—boats and music are common and rangers enforce quiet hours, though enforcement is inconsistent. Fires are allowed only in designated containers and lake levels can fluctuate, affecting water access.
