Mountaineer Campground offers a well-kept, riverside setting with friendly, attentive hosts. Facilities are consistently described as clean and maintained — bathhouses, pool, pavilion, and cabins. Location is convenient for Great Smoky Mountains access, nearby restaurants, grocery, and trails; campsites often overlook Little River. RVs get full hookups, cable and Wi‑Fi per reviews. Practical tradeoffs: sites can be tight and close to neighbors; some sites have low-rim fire pits or sewer/drain placement that may affect large rigs. A few guests mentioned minor updates and that the laundry lacks a change machine. Overall, welcoming and reasonably priced.
