Beautiful and extremely clean, well taken care of campground. We stayed 3 nights and would have loved to stay longer! Very close to many fun tourist areas, including Gatlinburg and pigeon forge. A definite return stay will be in our future

Big Meadow Family Campground in Townsend is a well‑kept, family‑run spot popular with RVers and larger rigs. Sites are generally roomy and the grounds, bathhouses and laundry are kept very clean; hot showers and a small on‑site store add convenience. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the park’s location near the river makes it a quiet, convenient base for exploring the Smokies, Cades Cove and nearby towns. Practical tradeoffs include limited Wi‑Fi for streaming, coin‑operated laundry that could use updating, occasional closely spaced sites, and a dumpster that isn’t next to every campsite.
