Due to high demand, Mather Campground recommends advanced reservations during peak season: March 1- November 30. You may book reservations up to 6 months in advance.

During the winter season: December 1-February 28, camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis using the self-pay machine located at the campground kiosk. During the holidays the campground could sell out. The campground kiosk is closed during winter, and online reservations are not available.

Campers are required to check-in at the campground kiosk upon arrival. Staff will orient you and answer questions. If you arrive after business hours, your campsite information is posted on the window of the kiosk. Take a map, review and follow the rules and regulations which are posted on the back. Check in at the campground kiosk the following day.

If you will be arriving over 24 hours late for your reservation, call (928) 638-7851 and leave a message with your name and reservation number to avoid being no-showed and having your reservation cancelled.

The only America the Beautiful Passes that qualify for the discounted camping rate are the Access passes and Senior passes. Annual passes do not qualify for the discounted camping rate. Campers are required to provide the valid pass with photo ID during check-in.

Maximum RV size is 30 feet, for either a motorhome, OR a Trailer.ย Trailers which are 30-feet long should be booked into one of the following sites: 120, 121, 128, 172, and 185. Most of the other sites will NOT work for a 30' Trailer.One RV is allowed per site. Mather campground does not have electric, sewer, or water hook-ups. There is a dump and water fill station next door at Camper Services. Generator hours are 7 am - 9 am and 6 pm to 8 pm.

Two standard-sized vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles) are allowed per site. All vehicles must be parked in the spot provided and remain on the pavement. Do not park on the road as emergency vehicles need this access.

Commercial Groups: Conducting business at Mather Campground requires a Commercial Use Authorization. Commercial groups with 7 or more people are required by their CUA agreement to use the Group Sites in the Sage Loop. Commercial groups with 6 or fewer people are allowed to book only one family site per night. All guides are required to have their reservation number when checking in at the campground kiosk. Large groups (7-50 people) should stay in the Group Sites (Sage Loop). Group Sites are tent-only. RVs and trailers are not permitted. Each Group Site can accommodate parking for three vehicles. Groups arriving by large buses MUST stay in either Sage Loop Group Sites 1, 6, or 7. The remaining Group Sites do not have parking for buses. Sage Loop Group Sites 4 and 5 are smaller, only holding 25 people & 2 vehicles. Senior and Access pass discounts do not apply to Group Sites. The booking window for the Sage Loop Group Sites is one year.

Hiker/biker sites are provied to campers who arive on foot or bicycle only. Hiker/biker sites are a communal tenting area with shared picnic tables and fire ring. Registration price in this area is $6 per person per night.

Check in begins at noon. Check out by 11 am. Quiet hours are 10 pm - 6 am.

Store food in your vehicle or hard-sided containers with lids. Keep styrofoam coolers in your vehicle. Deposit trash and recyling in the single-stream dumpsters provided. Do not leave food or trash unattended or hang it from trees. Please keep wildlife wild. Ravens and other animals will eat and scatter food and other small objects. This can be harmful to them possibly causing premature death.

Campfire rings are provided at each site. Collecting wood, pine cones, and needles is prohibited within the campground. Never leave a fire unattended, even for a short while. Drown fires completely before leaving the site. Fireworks are prohibited.

Drinking water spigots are provided throughout the campground. Do not bathe, wash dishes, or do laundry at water spigots. Wash at your site and flush tainted water down the toilet. Do not scatter waste water.

Pets are allowed. They must be kept on a leash and under physical control at all times. Pets may not be left unattended, even in vehicles.

All clotheslines, hammocks, and sports nets must be taken down when not in immediate use. Do not pierce trees with nails or other sharp objects.

Camping fees do not include the park entrance fee.

Campground terrain is hard and rocky. Sleeping pads are suggested and leveling equipment for RVs is recommended.
