Mahogany Flat Campground

Mahogany Flat Campground is located in Death Valley National Park California. A National Park Service free campground accessible by high clearance vehicles, hikers, and bikers only the campground is located at 8200ft and allows for cool weather camping within the hottest place on earth. Seasonally open, closed in winter, this campground offers panoramic views of the valley below. 10 primitive tent camping sites large enough for a tent or truck campers. Hiking trails to the tallest peaks in the National Park depart from here. A public parking area has spots for 5-6 vehicles. A single vault toilet serves the campground and hikers. Sites have reasonable privacy and plenty of shade. Arguably one of the post scenic National Park campgrounds in the country this location due to its remote nature and steep rocky rough access road is a special camping treat.
