Small, wooded campground right on Lewis Lake with easy access to the boat launch and good lake views; wildlife often passes through and the setting is quiet and scenic. Sites generally include a picnic table, fire ring and bear-proof food box, but are primitive, with no hookups, no showers and only vault toilets. Water is sometimes turned off early in the season, so plan to bring or haul water. Sites vary: some feel private with greenery, others are tightly spaced and can be snug for larger RVs. Good low-cost option for overnighting and exploring Yellowstone and Grand Teton, with full services about 10–25 minutes away.

📖 About This Campground

Lewis Lake Campground in Yellowstone National Park Wyoming is located near the southern entrance to the park along the shores of Lewis Lake. Primitive (and generator free) rent and RV sites available on a first come first served basis. Tucked off the highway the campground offers campsites on multiple loops mixed within a scenic forested setting. Vault toilets and water are available. Situated in a "remote" corner of the park Lewis Lake fills up later in the day due to this location and also to the fact that it is limited to vehicles, RVs, trailer combinations less than 25' in length. A boat ramp is available right next to the campground for non-motorized boating on the scenic lake. The campground includes a number of hike-in campsites a short walk from the parking area, pull in and back in sites. Explore the campground in this standard video
