Lewis and Clark State Park sits on Lake Sakakawea and the Missouri River with broad sandy beaches, colorful shoreline stones, and expansive water vistas popular for boating and sunrises. Campsites are generally well maintained and clean, with tent, RV, and a few cabins; rangers and hosts are frequently described as helpful and a small park store stocks essentials. Note practical tradeoffs: water levels can be low and the marina has been dry at times; some loops are tighter for large rigs, and there are rules limiting multiple units per site. A daily park fee and on-site firewood are available.
