What campers say

Ledges State Park offers striking sandstone bluffs, wooded trails, and a creek ideal for wading, with many well‑maintained paths and abundant shade. The campground provides gravel pads, electric hookups (30/50 amps) and sites with water/sewer at some loops, picnic tables, fire rings, a playground and firewood for sale. Facilities vary: newer restroom/shower buildings are very nice but some loops still have older or inoperable showers. Roads and campsites are narrow, which can make backing in a bit challenging, and parking at the lower lot can fill up on busy days. A peaceful, scenic option close to Boone and Ames.
