A great overnight stop for our travels across Texas. Water and electric hookups worked great and dump station was easy in and out. The first site we were assigned was not very level but we easily moved to another after checking back in at the checkin booth. Pretty desert landscape with lots of cactus. A bobcat was roaming the area. We hiked a lovely trail along the banks overlooking the river that was not unreasonably long or difficult but still fun. Inexpensive; all in all a good stop

The large easy to access campground has a mix of backin and pull thru sites with paved roads and parking pads. Very family friendly the sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Hiking trails meander through the area affording views from the cliffs overlooking the lake. Access to the campground is in a rural area and the campground itself is in a rural location. Dark and quiet nights await guests at this location.
Convenient to Interstate 20 use exit 210 for straight shot down to the entrance.
