Juneau County Castle Rock Park is a well‑maintained, family‑friendly lakeside campground with a wide sandy beach, clearly marked swim area, and clean restrooms with coin‑operated showers. Sites tend to be large and level, offering a mix of wooded, private spots and open lakefront sites; some loops are quieter while others are more seasonal and closer to facilities. Weekdays are generally peaceful but weekends bring more campers and boat and pontoon traffic. Practical tradeoffs include recent development that removed trees in parts of Loop A (less shade/privacy) and a few sites that are a 7-8 minute walk from showers. Staff are reported as helpful.
