Honey Creek State Park on Lake Rathbun offers varied lake access, multiple boat ramps and shore-fishing opportunities, plus cabins and drive-up camping. Campground loops include newer peninsula sites with lake views and an older loop with full sewer hookups; many sites have electric and water and restrooms/showers are clean. Well-maintained hiking trails, picnic shelters and abundant wildlife add to the experience. Reservations are straightforward and roads/check-in are convenient. Note that primitive/backcountry options are limited outside peak season and some trailheads can have tight parking, so plan accordingly.
