This is an Army Corps of Engineers park. It’s located on beautiful big Lake Lewisville with lots of fishing, boating and kayaking activity. Nice boat ramp. Every site has a covered picnic table and grill on a cement pad. The sites are big and well spaced. There’s a small playground, beach, hiking trails and ampitheater. Close to Dallas/Ft. Worth but away from all the traffic. Close to the town Grapevine. We stayed here 2 nights but could easily have stayed longer, it was very comfortable.

Hickory Creek Park Campgrounds near Lewisville Texas provides partial and primitive hookup RV and tent camping in a US Corp of Engineers park. Adjacent to Lewisville Lake guests have access to water and land recreation opportunities. Restrooms with showers a dump station and the high quality amenities you can expect from COE parks await you. Set in a northern suburb of Dallas the campground is very popular with local travelers and visitors. The suburban location allows easy access to supplies, fuel and food. Campsites have fire rings and picnic tables.

Overview
Hickory Creek sits on the extremely popular Lewisville Lake near Dallas, Texas. The almost 30,000-acre reservoir attracts a fair amount of visitors in summer months with warm water temperatures and excellent fishing opportunities.
Natural Features:
The lake stems from the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in northern Texas, and offers little visibility, but plenty of room for boating and watercraft.

The park sits on the Hickory Creek Arm of Lewisville Lake, very near to the suburbs of Dallas, Texas.

Recreation:
Visitors at Lewisville Lake enjoy picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing and relaxing. Photographers will stay entertained with wildlife and colorful sunsets, while hikers and bikers like to explore the 50 miles of natural surface and paved trails surrounding the lake.

Facilities:
The large campground boasts 121 sites with electric hookups. Ten primitive walk-in sites are also available. Park amenities include hot showers, a dump station, boat ramp, playground and pay phones.

Sites 105-122 are available for advanced reservations for non-profits with a youth initiative (ages 0-18) by emailing Ranger Anthony Sanders at Anthony.P.Sanders@usace.army.mil

Nearby Attractions:
Several public golf courses are located around the lake, and horseback riding opportunities are available, too. Hickory Creek is just 35 miles away from downtown Dallas.
