What campers say
Hamburger Rock Campground sits among striking red-rock formations near Monticello, offering scenic sunset and stargazing views and easy scrambling that’s fun for kids and adults. About ten primitive BLM sites are tucked into alcoves that provide privacy; most sites have a picnic table, fire ring, and there are two vault toilets. It’s first-come, first-served ($15/night with a reduced senior fee) and suits tents, trucks, and vans—large RVs may struggle to level. Expect no hookups, no water or trash service, and limited cell signal, so bring supplies and pack out all waste.
