What campers say

Grandview Sandbar Campground is a wooded, free, first-come-first-served site in New River Gorge National Park offering tent and small-RV camping with close river access for swimming, fishing and small boats. Sites are well-sized, many with picnic tables, fire rings and lantern poles; vault toilets are available but there are no hookups or showers. Walk-in sites are offered in addition to drive-up spaces, though large rigs may have difficulty on the narrow gravel approach. Popular on weekends, sites can fill early. Some visitors report train and nearby road noise at times, so earplugs may help.
