What campers say

French Broad River Campground is an older, no-frills riverside site a short drive from downtown Asheville. Sites are close together and some are tight to access—one narrow entrance/exit is noted—though many camps sit right on the river, offering peaceful river sounds and easy tubing/kayaking access. Hookups vary (some sites have electric and water; sewer is not available at all sites). Amenities are basic: bathhouse condition varies and can require improvement, and restrooms may be a walk from certain sites. Owners and fellow campers are frequently described as friendly; overall a simple, affordable base camp near town.

RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with a great sense of excitement and some sadness that we announce our retirement from running the French Broad River Campground. After 27 years of being here for guests to enjoy the river, we are now hitching up our own RV to travel and explore. We have SOLD the campground. After some renovations, the new owners will reopen. Stay tuned for their announcements.
We wish to express our sincere gratitude for all our regular campers who have returned year after year to our campground. You have become a part of our extended family, and we will miss seeing you as you set up camp.
Sincerely,
Bill & Glenda Sanderson
