We love this campground and have stayed here twice. It is a great place to get away from the sounds of the city but still be close. We typically stay in a dry camping site but there are a few reservable sites with electric. The views here are spectacular and we spent quite a few afternoons watching storms come over the mountains in Yellowstone. A word of warning - the mice here are numerous and daring. They will invade your campsite and maybe even your rig. Also, the wind from the west can get pretty strong as it races up the reservoir. We would gladly stay here again. If you go to the other side of the reservoir on the dirt roads, you can get close up views of the antelope.

What campers say
Buffalo Bill State Park offers a well-maintained lakeside campground with friendly staff and helpful volunteers. Sites vary: some loops provide water and electric hookups, others are water-only, and a third area is dry camping; there’s a good dump station with potable water. Facilities are generally clean with vault toilets and limited coin-operated showers near the entrance. The park is popular for fishing, kayaking, picnics, stargazing and as a stop en route to Yellowstone; AT&T coverage was reported good. Be prepared for wind in the valley and a few tent pads that can be hard or sparse of grass.
