Easy elk viewing is the campground's main draw, with animals often wandering through campsites and a short drive to the visitor center. Sites are generally spacious, level grass back-ins with electric hookups, a water fill at the entrance and a dump station on exit. Expect basic facilities: restroom and shower house are usable but dated, water may not be potable, and phone/Wi-Fi service is limited, so bring supplies. Roads and sites can be muddy when wet. Some visitors report noisy campsites and minimal quiet-hour enforcement. New ownership appears to be investing in maintenance and improvements.
